The second biggest loss to rtv came when jackyyll decided to take down the hosting for rtv. It was a loss not because of the temporary hosting issues, it was a loss because we lost the presence of Marc Addeo, known in chat as jackyyll. But, we consider him family (he does only show his cock to family members, afterall) and feel no remorse is using this platform to help him advertise his new project: http://jackyyll.co.cc/

We’ve come across a major case of butthurt, which has resulted in an attack on rtv. Jackyyll (moar liek jackFAIL, amirite?) developed this pain in his rectum when bobthejanitor posted his cock on his Facebook profile and has since decided that acting like a raging faggot is the best of all possible ways to deal with it.

So, for at least the time being, rtv will be hosted here, on Prankr, alongside the blog. Plans are in the works to get a domain solely for rtv. All other side projects, including Stereo, are on hold as we fix the minor problems jackyyll’s emorage has caused.

Other than a change in web address, your frontend experience should remain consistant.

Since many of the people who chat on our server don’t seem to understand how to use IRC properly, I will explain the basics of hanging out.

• Don’t fuck with the ops, these are the people who ban you when they don’t like you. They have put in more time and work than you and have every right to kick and/or ban you for whatever reason (or lack thereof).
• A good portion of the people in chat are trolls. rtv was started by the guy who made the Tom Green raids and is run by people who raid/troll. Bawwwing because you got trolled is a great way to get banned.
• If you are banned, try to come back in 5 minutes. Bans usually don’t last long. When you do come back, it is highly recommended that you don’t get all Maps emo and cry.
• 99% of all bans aren’t meant to be personal. bans happen because they are: 1. funny 2. funny.
• Never pm a mod without their permission. Annoying ops is the quickest way to get banned.
• Don’t talk unless you have something worthwhile to say. The chat is filled with gayds and you new fucks make it worse.

Here’s a great quote about another chat that basically summarizes rtv chatting (and IRC in general):

The way to learn some is to get banned and learn your lesson. I get banned alot,usually by ajt or weev. I have learned to not fuck with weev, EVAR.That means no talking about personal life and shit unless you really get to know him and can have a dozen conversations without him banning you. Same rule applies to ajt too; he has been banning me alot and will perma-ban you without warning. Just wait it out until morning and get on by another computer and ask eppigy to unban you (he is always on). Oh yeah be poliet about it too and don’t talk when the person who previously banned you is having a conversation unless you can usefully contribute to the conversation. Don’t ask questions instead use the power of the internet to find answers. Also don’t ever talk about chans unless a Sysop has brought up the topic (discussion of anontalk is forbidden). There is really no way to prevent being banned when ajt confronts you on something; he bans you, period. That is all I have for you right now.

In move that’s shocked no one, gb has stepped down as head of rtv. He has named otis as his successor.

Otis took some time out today to give a speech. He noted that he hopes to continue gb’s tradition of quality broadcasting (read: intense anti-trolling) and mediocre chats.
